AT THE BEACH / CURRUMBIN

We have not been walking that much over the past month due to my self-diagnosed Golfer/Tennis elbow injury. I believe I sustained this injury from throwing the ball / frizbee for Bella - not helped by the fact she pulls on the leash, when excited about going to the park or beach.

This past weekend I purchased a gentle-leader collar and decided to take her to the beach and try it out. She did not like it at first but soon got used to it, the bonus is it definitely works. She walked by my side without pulling once.

As soon as we walked onto the beach, Bella met a playmate! Ava. They played together while I snapped away and chatted to a very friendly owner.

Bella letting Ava know who's stick it was....

Both dogs enjoying time playing together...

They played together, with Bella retrieving the large stick she had attached herself too. I threw it as far out into the surf as possible. She would loose it sometimes and have to tread water, trying to see over the breakers to find it - she always managed to find it.

After Ava left, we walked up the beach to the Lagoon. Bella then spent some time swimming in the rip of the lagoon, the tide was on it's way out and she wore herself out. It was like being on a treadmill, with her in one spot for about five minutes.

She was in bed early last night.
