BRONTE TO BONDI BEACH

23 years ago when I first immigrated to Australia, I lived in Bronte, a suburb on the south side of the city and a few beaches south of Bondi Beach. I always loved this area and decided to take Bella for the walk from Bronte to Bondi and back. The path meanders along the coast, some of it paved and other parts are carved into the sandstone cliff faces. It's just another beautiful picturesque part of the city's coastline. Unfortunately the recent storms here in NSW damaged large parts of the coastline and some of the baths/natural salt water swimming pools.

We started early so that we could take our time and soak in all the surroundings along the way. I parked the car in the same spot I used to park when I lived here and started our walk. It was a weekday so the crowds were not around, therefore making the walk more pleasant. Ever since I introduced Bella to the ocean, she just wants to get in it. It's a little hard when a lot of the beaches here in NSW are not very dog friendly, so I kept her on the leash and make sure she stayed off the sand. She was not happy, but still enjoyed the walk.

When we got to Bondi they were in the process of shooting a dramatic crime-scene on the beach for the TV show: Top Of The Lake. We sat there and ate lunch while watching the stylists getting the actors ready for their particular shoot. They had police horses and actors dressed as policemen riding the horses, boatloads of recording equipment, a large drone capturing shots from offshore behind the locals surfers. Bella was really fascinated with the horses and would not take her eye off of them. An awesome afternoon hanging out, watching this all go down.

Most enjoyable day spent with my traveling companion, awakening all those dormant memories. Being surrounded by the scent of the ocean breeze, the sound of the waves. Seeing people enjoying the beach lifestyle, with the odor of amazing coffee and food at the numerous little beach side cafes. Life is great.
